Latest release of PHX ModelCenter® provides an enhanced visual environment for quick, intuitive integration of leading CAE platforms
WAYNE, PA—January 19, 2010—Phoenix Integration, a leading provider of software for engineering automation, integration, and design optimization, today announced the formal market release of PHX ModelCenter® 9.0, the latest version of the company’s flagship product, a graphical environment for process integration and design automation that enables engineers to perform powerful design exploration during product development and verification.
PHX ModelCenter 9.0’s next-generation product design and modeling & simulation framework further empowers product development teams to find the best designs that meet targets on quality, cost and delivery schedules.
PHX ModelCenter 9.0 includes the following new and enhanced capabilities:
- Process Modeling: Repeatable engineering processes can now be created, saved, executed, and shared in PHX ModelCenter 9.0. Engineering analyses can be graphically combined together in PHX ModelCenter 9.0 using logic, looping, and branching constructs to create hierarchical and reusable flowchart-like engineering processes. Once created, these processes can be automated, and used to perform trade studies, answer “what-if” questions, reduce errors, and standardize and share common repeatable processes across the organization.
- CAE Solver Plug-In Suite: PHX ModelCenter 9.0 now allows users to quickly wrap high fidelity CAE software, perform detailed design optimization and validation, and conduct multiple trade studies. The integration of CAE solvers into PHX ModelCenter is performed within an easy-to-use, intuitive visual environment and does not require any tedious programming. Custom interfaces are provided for a number of commercially available CAE software tools including MSC Nastran, MSC ADAMS, NX Nastran, ANSYS®, Abaqus®, and LS-DYNA®. Once the CAE solver(s) are integrated into PHX ModelCenter, trade studies such as parametric evaluations, Design of Experiments (DOE), Response Surface Modeling (RSM), and optimization studies can be performed to find the best design solutions efficiently and effectively.
- RSM Toolkit 2.0: The powerful suite of design trade-off study tools offered in PHX ModelCenter 9.0 performs parametric studies, DOE, RSM, gradient and non-gradient based optimization, and design results visualization. RSM Toolkit 2.0 allows users to replace long running analyses with quick, accurate approximate models, thus enabling faster multi-run trade studies such as optimization and Monte Carlo analysis. The intuitive interface guides users through the response surface creation process, allowing users to choose from traditional polynomial response surface models or the new, versatile Kriging models.
- QuickWrap 2.0: PHX ModelCenter 9.0 now provides a more robust and user-friendly graphical interface for quickly wrapping any command line based simulation. In most cases, input and output variables are specified by simply pointing and clicking on the variables in the input and output files with the mouse.
“This latest evolution of PHX ModelCenter is in large part a response to the trend we are seeing among our customers,” said Dipankar Ghosh, Ph.D., Director of Product Management at Phoenix Integration. “We’ve seen the growing desire among our users to incorporate design optimization in their CAE processes. PHX ModelCenter 9.0 means the best of both worlds—our leading design optimization technologies plus new high-fidelity integration capabilities. The result is improved competitiveness and reduced product development costs for our customers.”
